UK solar panel specialist Viridian Solar, has announced the arrival of Highline – a new solar thermal panel for installation above pitched roofs.
Stuart Elmes, CEO of the Cambridge based manufacturer says, “For installations where our Clearline in-roof solar panels aren’t the optimal solution Highline gives our customers another option and strengthens our solar thermal product range.
“Retrofitting situations are the most likely to favour an on-roof installation, and this is a market that we are anticipating will be significantly boosted by the domestic Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI). Highline solar thermal panels have the same ideals of aesthetic design and simplicity of installation as our Clearline range.”
The panels have a frameless design, a single laser-welded absorber sheet and clear glass. The matching black casing and mounting rail give Highline what the manufacturer describes as ‘superior aesthetics’ to other above-roof systems. The ‘gravity-lock’ system simplifies panel installation and improves installation accuracy – panels simply slide into the lower rail to be held in a perfectly aligned position to ensure a durable hydraulic connection between panels.
The Highline panel is now available to order, with deliveries set to commence in February 2014.
