The Federation of Petroleum Suppliers (FPS), the trade association for the oil distribution industry in the United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland, has announced the appointment of a new Marketing & Events Manager, Dawn Shakespeare.

Dawn has extensive marketing and events experience and has also previously worked in the oil distribution industry, having held positions with both Evesons and NWF Fuels. In her new role, Dawn is looking to strengthen the overall offering of the FPS to oil distributors throughout the British Isles and is looking to build on the success of FPS EXPO, as well as delivering other key annual events and marketing activities.

Already making her mark on FPS EXPO, Dawn has succeeded in selling over 85% of stand space, with four months remaining until the exhibition opens at Harrogate International Centre in April 2014.

Dawn says, “The FPS plays a crucial role in enhancing and promoting the work oil distributors do and I am really looking forward to driving the events programme forward, championing the FPS membership and creating new products and services for our growing membership.  Through this we will be looking to increase our membership, especially in Ireland.  With increased numbers, we can establish an even stronger industry presence, promote successes and address challenges and issues to best effect.  I am also looking to develop further our communication to the wider community in which we operate and I will be spearheading this in 2014.”

Mark Askew, FPS Chief Executive, adds, “Dawn is a fantastic new addition to our growing team.  She brings a vibrant approach and a raft of new ideas. Increased demand and interest in the FPS and the success of FPS EXPO the oil distribution industry’s key annual event, has seen an increase in the services we are now offering to members.  Dawn will play a pivotal role in growing and developing this offering, ensuring we continue to work very hard for our membership.”
