Danfoss has launched a range of Heating Efficiency Packs, as part of an initiative which the company claims represents a handy new way to buy its high efficiency home heating controls.
According to Danfoss, each pack contains everything installers need to give their customers much better control of room temperature and energy use all around the house, using the latest Danfoss Room Thermostats and TRVs. Heating Efficiency Packs are available in a choice of eight product combinations to suit different applications and budgets, when upgrading controls in an existing heating system.
In October 2013, The BEAMA Heating Controls association, which represents UK manufacturers of heating controls commissioned the University of Salford to carry out some independent tests on the performance of TRVs and room thermostats on their full-scale Energy House facility. Proven test results showed that installing TRVs on radiators and one reference room thermostat can cut household heating bills by up to 40% and – at the same time – achieve better temperature comfort.
Danfoss Marketing Director, Bjorn Sejr Nielsen, says the company’s new Heating Efficiency Packs represent outstanding sales potential for installers. “We believe the benefits of these Packs in terms of improved comfort and lower energy bills will be easy to sell to homeowners,” he says. They are also a cost-effective option for installers and their customers. For example, one of the packs contains six Danfoss TRVs, matching lockshield valve and wheel head, and a digital room thermostat.
“If you bought these products separately they could cost over 40% more. So as well as saving your customer 40% it also offers you a 40% saving.” As well as being a great deal price-wise, the new range also offers installers the convenience of a single pack of heating controls which they can simply pick off the shelf.
All Heating Efficiency Packs contain six Danfoss RAS-C2 Thermostatic Radiator Valves (TRVs) featuring the company’s ‘flow selectable’ revolver valve body. Matching lockshield valves and wheelheads are also included. The radiator valves are combined with a choice of Danfoss room thermostat. Options include a hard-wired or wireless dial or digital room thermostat from the RET range or the TP5000Si, a fully programmable room thermostat offering up to six time and temperature changes each day.
Summing up, Bjorn says Danfoss offer a Heating Efficiency Pack for every domestic heating application adding, ‘Whichever Pack you choose, the Danfoss room thermostat will have chrono-proportional temperature control, our advanced micro-processor based system which calculates how long the heating needs to stay ‘on’ to achieve optimum comfort and boiler efficiency.”
