BRE Confirmed As Research And Innovation Partner For Ecobuild 2016 – OilFiredUp

BRE

For the third consecutive year BRE has been selected as the official research and innovation partner of Ecobuild  – the largest UK exhibition and conference for the construction and energy industry – which takes place from 8-10 March at the Excel Centre in London.

The partnership will see BRE conduct a range of activities at the event including provision of content and speakers for the main conference as well as the CPD accredited learning hubs on Digital Building and the Infrastructure Revolution, powered by the Institution of Civil Engineers.

Director of the BRE Academy Pauline Traetto will take the main stage on Day 3 – Next Generation to share the findings from a recently conducted ‘boardroom to building site’ skills survey. The results aim to give the sector a comprehensive picture of the UK’s construction skills gap from senior leaders to sub-contractors.

BRE’s Home Quality Mark (launched at last year’s event) will sponsor Day 1 focused on meeting the challenges around Housing, with Gwyn Roberts talking about next generation housing and how it will it perform. BIM@BRE – BRE’s training and certification programmes around BIM – are sponsors of Day 2 – Architecture.

Martin Hurn, Event Director of Ecobuild, says, “BRE’s track record in driving positive change across the built environment through research and products, tools and standards provision make them the ideal research and innovation partner for Ecobuild. We are delighted to have them on board.”

BRE’s own exhibition stand (E3032) will focus on our activities around BREEAM in its 25th anniversary year, the progress of the Home Quality Mark which was launched at last year’s show and is now in use on several developments. Experts will be on hand to discuss how organisations can start their BIM Level 2 journey as HM Government’s first compliance milestone gets ever closer.

Ecobuild will also continue its sponsorship of the BREEAM awards dinner which takes place on the first evening of the event, at the London Marriott, Grosvenor Square.

Miles Watkins, BRE Group Business Development Director says, “We are delighted to be working with Ecobuild to deliver a knowledge rich event that will benefit all those working across the built environment at a time that couldn’t be more challenging for our sector.”
